Bears Special Teams Rewriting Their Playbook

A season after Devin Hester re-wrote the record books and the NFL Competition Committee re-wrote the rule book, the Chicago Bears Special Teams are re-writing their playbook.  If you thought special teams were simply see Devin catch, see Devin run, see Devin score, you are sorely mistaken.  Bears special teams coach Dave Toub has spent his offseason re-writing his playbook.

"“We basically revamped our whole playbook,” he said. “We took all the different things that we’ve done over the last three years from the game plan books and compiled them and put them into a new book. We hadn’t redone our playbook in about three years, and this was a good time to be able to do that.”"

If you want even more Bears Special Teams coverage, check out the awesome post by Matt Bowen in National Football Post where he breaks down a couple of Devin Hester returns to see what wrong if you’re an opponent or what went right if you’re a Bears fan.  If for no other reason, give it a spin just to see a couple of Devin’s electrifying returns against divisional opponents Green Bay and Minnesota.
