Manning, RG3, Super Bowl Champs: Chicago Bears 2012 Preseason Schedule Released

The NFL released the 2012 preseason schedule and the Chicago Bears will have some really interesting games. (At least as interesting as preseason games can be.)

August 9-12 – vs Denver Broncos

The first look that anyone will get on Peyton Manning in a Broncos uniform, presuming he’s healthy enough to play, will be at Soldier Field against the Bears. I’m setting the number of plays that Peyton gets at 9-1/2.  Over or under?

August 16-19 – vs Washington Redskins

The Bears haven’t played the Redskins in the preseason in like 35 years.  They’ll likely be seeing RG3 and RG 3-and-out.  Yes, Rex Grossman is still in the mix in Washington, but Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III will be the headliner.  (Have to give it up to PFT for the 3-and-out line.)

August 24 – @ New York Giants

The Bears get a nationally televised game (oddly on CBS between two NFC opponents) against the Super Bowl Champion Giants.  The third preseason game is the one everyone always takes seriously, so let’s hope the Bears have that pass protection thing figured out for Jay Cutler’s sake.

August 30 – @ Cleveland Brown

The Bears continue their annual matchup with the Cleveland Browns to close out the preseason schedule.  Yeah, I don’t care about this one either.

The regular season schedule will be released later this month, so stay tuned.   Besides their 6 games with NFC North opponents, the Bears head to San Francisco, Arizona, Jacksonville, Tennessee and Dallas while they host Indianapolis, Seattle, St. Louis, Houston and Carolina.
