I was watching NFL Films Top Ten the other night and they had the Top 10 most dominant single season performances. They had Gale Sayers on the list. Now I’m a Payton guy and grew up on Sweetness, so I hadn’t really paid attention to “the other great running back in Bears history.” This special made me sit up and take notice. Since I can’t embed the clip, here are some highlights to hold you over.
It’s especially impressive since he was so dominant as a rookie. And can you imagine that Bears team in ’65 with a rookie class of Sayers and Butkus? McClellin and Jeffery have some big shoes to fill in the scheme of Bears great draft classes.
