Devin Hester Tumbles to Number 48 in NFL’s Top 100 of 2012

Devin Hester may be ridiculous, but so is his ranking at #48 in the NFL Network’s Top 100 of 2012.  His peers thought enough of him to rank him #32 in 2011, but I wonder if the dropoff can be attributed to the change in kickoff rules, taking away a big part of Hester’s game.

Few players can lay claim to having as big an impact as Hester does.  He’s a game changer even without the ball.  They touch on this play a bit in his clip from Wednesday night’s show, which you can see here, or you can just watch this play by itself here, when Hester faked out the entire Packers team on the greatest punt return that never counted:

Is he ranked too high or too low?  If you ask Brandon Marshall, Hester will rank much higher in 2013.  Marshall thinks Hester will be an All-Pro receiver this season.  I’ll be happy if he can keep doing what he’s been doing in the return game.   Where do you rank Hester?  What are your expectations for him this season both as a returner and as a wide receiver?

BEAR DOWN!!!
