Meet Mike Tice: Inside Chicago Bears Rookie Minicamp Part 4

facebooktwitterreddit

Of the Inside Rookie Minicamp series that the Bears have released on their website, Episode is not my favorite of the bunch.  It just seems to fall a little flat for me.  Give it a spin yourself after the jump and see my comments.

You’ve got to give it up to to the Bears for giving a veteran like tight end Ali Villenueva an opportunity to try out.  It’s a looong shot that he’d get to make the team, but you can’t teach size and at 6’10”, you just never know.  From the video, it’s clear the kid is rusty, but who wouldn’t be after just getting back from Afghanistan?  Kudos.  Whenever I get to a game at Soldier Field, I love that they take a moment to honor a member of our armed forces.  I’m glad that’s not just for show, but they actually back that up with this type of move.

We learned that Mike Tice likes to chat up all the guys to make them feel loose and comfortable.   Great.  Start chatting up Jay Cutler and that offensive line in particular Mikey.  That is what’s going to make this new offense of your go.

Not much else jumped out at me besides meeting TE coach Mike DeBord and rookie tight end Evan Rodriguez.

Stay tuned; they wrap up the series with Episode 5 in the next few days.
