Offensive coordinator Mike McCoy doesn’t have time for sulking following the Denver Broncos’ surprising 38-35 loss to the Baltimore Ravens as his calendar continues to fill up.  The San Diego Chargers have added him to their list of prospective head coaching candidates, while reports out of Arizona indicate the Cardinals will make a serious push to get McCoy to be their next head coach.  If Phil Emery and the Chicago Bears want a shot at McCoy, they’re going to have to speed it up or risk missing out on the hottest coaching candidate going.

Bears GM Phil Emery has taken a very meticulous – some including this observer consider it overboard – search for Lovie Smith’s replacement.  So far, only three teams have named head coaching hires – the Kansas City Chiefs hired Andy Reid, the Buffalo Bills tabbed Doug Marrone and the Cleveland Browns brought over Rob Chudzinski.  Teams still searching for a new head man include the Bears, Cardinals, Chargers, Eagles and Jaguars.

McCoy is in play for the Bears, Cardinals, Chargers and Eagles, so if another team makes an offer to McCoy, the Bears’ hand will be forced to step up or move on.  According to ESPN’s Michael Wright, the Bears are not expected to announce the finalists, but in today’s Twitterverse, I find it hard to believe we won’t have a list of ‘finalists’ won’t be revealed whether the Bears like it or not.
