38 years ago today, the Chicago Bears drafted a running back out of an obscure, small school in Mississippi with the fourth pick overall.  Who knew that when the Bears drafted Walter Payton back in 1975 out of little Jackson State, that he would become arguably the greatest running back of all time?

To commemorate the day the Bears drafted Payton, here’s a little highlight reel of Payton’s greatest moments:

Payton still holds Chicago Bears records for rushing yards (16,726 ), receptions (492), Touchdowns (125), rushing touchdown (110) and third overall in scoring with 750 points behind only kickers Kevin Butler and Robbie Gould.

We miss you Walter!
