SNL did a little skit to rip on the way CBS handled the power outage that delayed last weekend’s Super Bowl some 34 minutes and had a lot of people wondering what was going on. Pretty funny stuff even though, like most SNL segments, it goes a little bit longer than I’d like. Check it out:
The way CBS handled the in-game chaos has led to a lot of folks questioning the pre-game shows and the sideline “reporters” who didn’t do much reporting during the confusion and had little insight to offer. It was pretty awkward watching the talking heads try to fill time and ad lib a little. It could lead to changes in the way networks broadcast the games and could have more seasoned reporters on site in case of an issue. It’s also possible that they could re-cast the studio panels.
What kind of changes would you like to see to the studio shows? More fantasy info? How about a Pro Football Focus or other stats geek doing a segment?
