The Chicago Bears bolstered their offensive line with the 20th selection in the NFL draft by selecting Oregon guard Kyle Long.  He’s the son of Howie Long and brother of DE Chris Long.  Here is his profile and scouting report from our friends at National Football Post.

"STRENGTHS – Long has the height and frame the NFL requires at offensive line and should be able to pack on additional weight. His quickness off the ball allows him to get into defenders quickly both at the LOS and out in space on screens and pulls. He’s an aggressive player at the POA that is able to drive block effectively because of his punch and willingness to play to the whistle. He plays with a strong punch in pass pro, which helps him counter some of his athletic limitations.WEAKNESSES – Long displays poor lower body flexibility, as he tends to bend at the waist and struggle with his balance. He has a habit of stopping his feet on contact on both run and pass blocks, which causes him to reach and fall off blocks early. In pass protection he tends to set too high which not only leaves him susceptible to bull rushes, but also makes it difficult for him to change directions efficiently to combat counter-moves.SUMMARY – Kyle Long tried to carve his own athletic path (his father is Hall-of-Famer Howie Long, his brother is St. Louis Rams DE Chris Long) by playing baseball at Florida State. After academic struggles and a DWI arrest in January 2009 he dropped out of school, and spent two years playing DE and OT in JUCO before transferring to Oregon for his senior year. Long certainly looks the part of an NFL offensive lineman, and plays with the same competitiveness that is brother does for the Rams. While his punching power and aggressiveness at the POA generally allow him to control the LOS, he plays with a stiff lower body and struggles to sustain blocks on both pass and run plays. He is a better fit inside at guard because he struggles in space in pass protection, but with increased flexibility he could develop into a solid starter. Long is worth an early day three selection, as his strength and competitiveness lends itself well to the NFL game."
