Chicago Bears cornerback Charles Tillman hosted his second annual Celebrity Pro BOWLer  charity bowling event at Kings Lanes in suburban Rosemont to benefit his Cornerstone Foundation.  I was fortunate enough to attend the event and am happy to report the event was a tremendous success!  Charles enlisted the help of teammates past and present along with other friends to act as captains of fans and sponsors that went for up to $10,000 per team.  Participants included Matt Forte, Major Wright, Tim Jennings, Craig Steltz, Patrick Mannelly, and Shea McClellin while former teammates Anthony “Spice” Adams, Johnny Knox, Rashied Davis and Jason McKie joined in with local celebs like Jarrett Payton, Antoine Walker and Kenny Battle to anchor their teams.

Fans also had the option of purchasing a general admission ticket to watch the festivities and partake in the open bar and appetizers.  I can tell you it was money well spent. The players were very generous with their time, moving from team to team and pressing the flesh with their fans.  They were shaking hands, signing autographs and enjoying a fun night of bowling.

There was a great buzz throughout Kings, which is a great venue and served as great hosts.  The Score’s Matt Abbatacola served as emcee for the event where Charles was presented a check in the amount of $160,000 for his charity.  That will be put to great use as Peanut helps families with sick children.

Tune back in to Bear Goggles On for some exclusive interviews that I conducted with Charles Tillman, Shea McClellin, Patrick Mannelly and Anthony “Spice” Adams.  I’ll be posting highlights from my conversations with them over the next couple of weeks.

Check out the next few pages for some photos from the event.
