Bears Make Roster Moves

The Bears shuffled the bottom of their roster again and re-signed OT Jonathan Scott. They also waived TE Kyle Adams to get their roster back down to the required 53. Coaches [Marc] Trestman and [Aaron] Kromer both like to practice with 10 offensive lineman and Scott is a veteran who provides stability on the line.

Adams is one of those solid but not spectacular players. He is a good back up and it wouldn’t surprise me if the Bears keep his number on speed dial just in case there is an injury later on in the season.

The Bears also waived OG Derek Dennis from the practice squad and resigned QB Jerrod Johnson to the practice squad.

This also isn’t much of a surprise since they re-signed Scott and really seem to like Johnson and what he brings to the table with his intelligence and athleticism wise.

As the season moves forward I would imagine that the Bears will continue to make roster moves as they see fit to make their team better; be it on the practice squad or the 53 man roster. As we have seen with teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers who are in pretty desperate need of running back help right now; knowing where to go and who to call in a pinch is almost as important as anything a coaching staff can do to make sure their team is ready to compete on Sundays.
