Expect Bounceback Game from Jay Cutler Against Saints (Infographic)

I believe if Cutler can avoid a “Bad Jay” performance and the Bears can force the Saints to be one dimensional, they have issues running the ball, Mel Tucker and the defense can give the Saints receiving core some problems.  To me, the biggest matchup will be how the Bears cover Jimmy Graham.  The all-world TE is a matchup nightmare.  I believe the Bears might be able to play some games there and match him up with different personnel, perhaps even let Peanut Tillman have the first crack at him and allow Jennings and Bowman/Frey to cover the wideouts.

This means more nickel coverage for the Bears, so the LBs and Safeties have to make sure they account for Darren Sproles.  Strategic blitzing will be helpful, but you can’t blitz Brees continuously or he will carve up the Bears secondary.  The Bears will also have to establish the running game to ensure some long sustained drives that keep Brees and company on the sidelines.

Cutler’s track record in bounce-back games is encouraging if you love statistics like I do.  However, this game isn’t played on paper and the Bears will have to be sharp on Sunday to avoid their first losing streak in the Trestman era.

There will be plenty more coverage leading up to Sunday, so be sure to check back during the week.  And, hell, tell a friend!!!

CAN I GET AN AMEN?!?!?!?!?!
