Editor’s Note: We had the pleasure of connecting with Robert Bacon, who’s a writer and performer iO Chicago Theater and Second City TC HouseCo. He offered to lend some of his comedic genius to our site with a guest post for The Cover Stew.  Let us know what you think and for God’s sake, go see his show, Everyone Hoops.  If it’s half as funny as this post, you’re in for a real treat.

Here at Bear Goggles they won’t just let anyone post on the blog. You have to show a real passion for the game and show that you have the skill to be a great sports writer. As a rookie you don’t get the great Bears sports stories to write about right away, but instead other random stories from around the league. Most of the time it’s stuff that no one else wants to do.

For my first post I was assigned to the Richie Incognito story. For those of you who don’t know Richie has been under some fire lately for some pretty mean voicemail messages and texts that he sent to his teammate Jonathan Martin. So Bear Goggles set me up with an interview and I drove (they said rookies can’t fly) down to Florida.
