Josh McCown is looking good so far this season as a fill in for Jay Cutler, do you think the Vikings will try and sign him next year when he becomes a free agent?

They should! Maybe just as a backup to whatever future failure the Vikings draft in this upcoming draft. I’d love to be more optimistic about Minnesota’s future at the quarterback position. But when you review the track record of the quarterbacks they have drafted in the past, it doesn’t look good. McCown is an upgrade to any of the signal callers currently on the Vikings squad, and that’s one of the most disappointing things that I’ve ever had to write.

How do you feel about Jared Allen announcing that he will test out the waters as a free agent next year?

I expected it. A player at his age needs to chase a Super Bowl championship ring. He doesn’t seem like the kind of guy to want to stick around and help young guys develop, be a leader, and have a team grow because of him. Also, he hasn’t been the player that he was in the past. The Vikings will have a hefty sum of money to spend in free agency next season, but hopefully they don’t throw a ton of money at him to keep him on the team. You never want to overpay for a guy because of things he’s done in the past.

What is your prediction for the game and final score?

I can’t predict the Vikings to win another game this season. The offense is just too one dimensional and the defense is almost non-existent. I expect the Bears to pass all over the Vikings and win this game. Final score prediction: 31-20 in favor of the Chicago Bears.
