The St Louis Rams made the decision a little easier for the Chicago Bears, as they selected Aaron Donald just ahead of the Bears.  So Phil Emery selected cornerback Kyle Fuller out of Virginia Tech.  Here’s our profile on him:

"Kyle Fuller, Virginia Tech (6’0, 194): Fuller is a technician at corner and excels against short to intermediate routes. He lacks deep speed, so he can be taken advantage of with the long ball, but the rest of Fuller’s game is solid including his run support. Fuller should be ready to step in and contribute right away."

Phil Emery passed on both safeties, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and Calvin Pryor to select Fuller.  Some people think Fuller might be able to play safety or nickel until he’s ready to succeed Charles Tillman or Tim Jennings.

The Bears needed gobs of help on defense, so this will certainly help.  Keep an eye out for a safety or defensive tackle in Round 2.

What do you think of the pick?  Would you have taken one of the top safeties?
