We had so much fun doing our Countdown to Kickoff series last season that we decided to do it again.  In case you’re new to the series, we’ll do a roster preview as we count down the days until the Chicago Bears September 7th season opener against the Buffalo Bills.

We’re less than 60 days from kickoff!  Number 59 on the Bears roster is linebacker Jordan Senn.  The veteran linebacker went undrafted in the 2008 NFL Draft out of Portland State and was signed by the Indianapolis Colts.  Senn immediately started to carve out his niche as a special teamer, but it wasn’t until he caught on with the Panthers that he became a special teams ace.

More from Chicago Bears News

In 2011, Senn was pressed into action at weak side linebacker for the final 7 games of the season, where he collected 71 tackles, 3 forced fumbles and an interception.  Senn served as the Panthers special teams caption in 2012 after re-signing with the team.

Senn is expected to compete for the role vacated by Blake Costanzo, who filled the special teams ace role for the Bears for the last couple of seasons.  With a glut of young linebackers, Senn will have a tough battle to earn a roster spot.  His experience on special teams and success when filling in at Will linebacker may be the key to get the last last roster spot.

Be on the lookout for our Countdown to Kickoff series as we continue to work our way to the season opener on September 7th. We’re 59 days from kickoff.  Are you ready???
