We had so much fun doing our Countdown to Kickoff series last season that we decided to do it again.  In case you’re new to the series, we’ll do a roster preview as we count down the days until the Chicago Bears September 7th season opener against the Buffalo Bills.

47 more days, I can’t wait.

Chris Conte is our #47 player today. He is a safety. I remember when he started with the Bears. I used to like him a whole lot. He is not so popular anymore. Coach sees something in him though, that’s why he’s still around. He did miss the coverage in the last few seconds of play at home against our rivals, the Packers, to keep us out of the playoffs.

At this point nobody knows who’s going to make the roster at most positions. They could just be keeping him around for competition at camp.

He has taken a lot of bad angles and missed tackles. So has everyone on our defense. I’m thinking they are getting a mulligan because of how bad they were as a whole last season, from Mel Tucker down.

It’s easy to say I forgive them now and let’s move forward. The gut-wrenching pain has subsided and I want to believe our defense will shine again.

If they don’t, I am going to cry like a little bedazzled princess on her birthday because something at her party didn’t go according to her expectations.

I’ve seen a lot of those, I am a clown by the name of Rob Noxious.
