We had so much fun doing our Countdown to Kickoff series last season that we decided to do it again.  In case you’re new to the series, we’ll do a roster preview as we count down the days until the Chicago Bears September 7th season opener against the Buffalo Bills.

Michael went undrafted in 2013 and was signed by the Bears.  Ford had an excellent preseason and it was thought he would get some carries during the season.  However, that didn’t happen but he did play in 12 games mostly on special teams.  He had 5 kick off returns for 37 yards. Being a rotational running back at LSU stunted his development but is considered a solid one speed running back. He is patient and finds the holes quickly. A bit like Forte, that he is a fluid flowing running back style.  At LSU, he was rarely asked to catch the ball.   As the Bears head into their first preseason game against the Eagles it has been noted the Shaun Draughn and Ka’Deem Carey are ahead of Ford.  He will need to show a great preseason to get his number two slot back.
