It wasn’t as a Bear, but it was still great to see. Devin Hester’s first punt return for a touchdown put him above Deion Sanders for the most returns for touchdowns of all time. I’m proud to say that 19 of those returns came as a member of the Bears, and every single one of them was electrifying. What makes it better? He did it against his former coach Lovie Smith, further contributing greatly to the rout of Tampa.  At least he didn’t do it against the Bears; they visit Atlanta in a few weeks.

It’s only been two weeks to the season and I already miss the Windy City Flyer. That feeling all Bears fans would get every single time the ball was kicked his way was second to none. He was always liable to make a play. A great thing about Hester’s returns with the Bears is that most of them had a big impact on the game. Just ask the 2006 Rams, the Jay Cutler led 2007 Broncos or Dennis Green. I’d be a fool to not mention the bittersweet one from Super Bowl XLI.

Here are all 19 of Devin’s returns with the Chicago Bears:

And here’s the record breaker:

Congratulations to Devin Hester on a remarkable feat. You. Are. Ridiculous.
