Think of a NFL Bye week like a four-day weekend. It’s provides a few extra days for a few extra moments to relax and get refocused, so one can resume where life was left off at. Hopefully, the Chicago Bears’ Bye week will provide them time to recover, reflect and rest. I’m thinking, let’s rest and relax with a few beers since we are absent our Bears.

The Kick Off: Beer Punch

I came across this idea of making beer into a punch. I know this sounds a little crazy, and maybe it is, but it wouldn’t hurt to take a few bottles of Corona and mix it with some berries, sugar and lime

Run Interference: Sweet and Salty Bacon Nuts and Pulled Pork Sliders

This appetizer would naturally complement any beer you desire. Not only is bacon covered, but walnuts and almonds are tossed with cayenne pepper and are baked to a glossy bite.

A second appetizer calls for a second dose of pork product, but this one is bathed in beer after being smothered in paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, brown sugar, celery salt and mustard powdered. After three hours of roasting time, the pork roast shreds apart and is topped with a cole slaw and an apple cider vinegar/brown sugar/tomato paste sauce. I would cook with and serve this dish with a brown ale.
