FanSided’s Latest 2015 NFL Mock Draft Has Bears Going Pass Rush

Now that the NFL Scouting Combine has wrapped up, draft boards are starting to firm up.  The guys at the FanSided mother ship have released their latest 2015 NFL Mock Draft and they have the Chicago Bears going with one of the top pass rushers:

"7. Chicago Bears – Vic Beasley, OLB, Clemson UniversityYou can bet the first thing John Fox has on his to-do list is to overhaul the Bears’ defense. Former Clemson outside linebacker Vic Beasley, who set a school record with 33 career sacks and was an All-American in 2013 and 2014, is one of most explosive players in the NFL draft. The elite edge rusher flashes off the snap and can reveal cracks in any offense. There may have been concerns about his size entering the combine, but he laid them to rest with his trail-blazing stats: He had the fastest 40 time (4.53 second) among outside linebackers, led the bench press (35 repetitions of 225 pounds) and dominated the vertical (41 inches). He will be a surefire threat on the Bears."

With Dante Fowler (#3 to the Jaguars) and Randy Gregory (#5 to the Redskins) off the board, the Bears jump on the chance to get the athletic freak from Clemson.  Beasley demonstrated his rare combination of size (6’2″, 236), speed (4.53 second 40) and strength (35 reps on the bench) at the Combine to already go with some impressive game tape:

It probably doesn’t hurt that Beasley compares himself to a player very familiar to new Bears head coach John Fox:

"“A lot of teams saw me with my hand in the ground, comparing me to guys like Cameron Wake,” Beasley told the Atlanta Falcons’ official website. “But I like to compare myself to Von Miller. He’s able to drop in coverage, and we have the same body size, so I try to compare myself after him.”"

I would love to see Beasley drop to the Bears at #7 and probably rank him right behind Dante Fowler in my rankings for a 3-4 outside linebacker.  I think the Bears can address their nose tackle later in the draft and wouldn’t be surprised if the Bears looked to free agency for a safety.

What do you think?  Do you prefer Beasley over Shane Ray or Bud Dupree?  Would you rather see Danny Shelton picked in the first?
