RISE AND GRIND, BEARS FANS!!!  I’ve decided to try to resurrect an old favorite of mine, Bear Dawn.  It’s the latest Chicago Bears news from around the interwebs.  Here’s what you need to know for Monday May 18, 2015:

We take another look at the Bears position groups, focusing on the Bears running backs:

"There is no question about who the top running back on the Bears is, but behind Matt Forte it’s wide open with as many as four or five RBs competing for jobs. With a new coaching staff in place, holdovers from last year’s roster like Ka’Deem Carey and Senorise Perry will have to excel to keep their roster spots while newcomers Jacquizz Rodgers, Jeremy Langford, and perhaps Joe Bergeron will look to take their jobs."

The Bears hosted a Fuel Up Play 60 event at Halas Hall:

"Bears cornerback Kyle Fuller and defensive tackle Will Sutton joined more than 120 elementary, middle and high school students from across Illinois for the Fuel Up to Play 60 Rewards Summit Saturday at Halas Hall. The event rewarded students for their efforts and achievements with Fuel Up to Play 60 and helped celebrate Illinois’ dairy farmers’ 100-year commitment to the health and well-being of America’s children and adults. Fuller and Sutton led the group through a variety of football drills and spoke to the kids about the importance of healthy eating and staying physically active."

We’re getting to know more about the three new additions to the Bears front office.  The interesting information in this post says there’s more work to be done:

"The Bears still have front-office personnel to add. Reports during the week indicated that area scouts Jay Muraco and Zach Truty will not return, and Dwayne Joseph, who had been the associate director of pro personnel with the Bears, was hired as the Eagles’ director of pro personnel."

Bleacher Report’s Matt Bowen thinks Pernell McPhee is a rising star in 2015:

"When you watch the tape from 2014 on McPhee, the true versatility to his game stands out. He can play multiple roles for the Bears in both their 3-4 base and nickel packages. That’s where McPhee will rush off the edge, play on the interior of the defensive front or line up off the ball. He gives you options as a coordinator to generate matchups while catering to his skill set given the size (6’3″, 280 lbs) and athleticism he brings to the table."

Speaking of rising stars, Rant Sports thinks Kevin White will explode on the scene in 2015.
