TGIF Bears’ fans! We’ve hit the last Friday in June and keep trudging through the most boring part of the sports calendar, but there are still plenty of Chicago Bears stories to follow.  Check out our latest installment of Bear Dawn for Friday June 26th, your one stop shop for all the latest Chicago Bears news and notes from the internet.

The guys over at Windy City Gridiron are looking at the most overrated Chicago Bear in team history.

"Nathan Vasher lucked into more interceptions than any Bears’ player that I can remember. He had 13 in his first two years as a Bear, but only 6 during the next, often injury plagued, 4 years in Chicago. He wasn’t a very physical player, but he was playing in a Tampa 2 defense that asked its defensive backs to be physical."

They have pinned Nathan Vasher with that dubious distinction, but for my money, it’s a tossup between a couple of beloved ’85 Bears.  It’s either Mike Singletary or Jim McMahon.  Samurai Mike had the eyes and know-how, but you could have made half the tackles he did playing behind that defensive line.  And while I love McMahon for what he did for the ’85 team, he is way too revered for an injury plagued quarterback who was better in the headlines than actually on the field.  What do you think?  Who’s your most overrated Bear of all time?

The guys at Da Bear Beat continue to carve out roles for the Bears roster.  They look for a spot for everyone on the Bears defensive line.

First round draft pick Kevin White celebrated his 22nd birthday yesterday.  The Bears posted a little birthday photo album to help celebrate.

NFL.com’s Bucky Brooks ranked the top 20 coordinators in the league.  The Bears’ Vic Fangio was rated #4 overall and the second defensive coordinator:

"4) Vic Fangio, defensive coordinator, Chicago Bears: The shrewd coaching veteran is one of the best in the business at putting his guys in the right position to make plays. He routinely outfoxes the most creative offensive minds by throwing in unanticipated tactics that allow his top players to wreak havoc all over the field."

What’s interesting is a familiar name finished ahead of Fangio as top DC.  Yup, Rod Marinelli was ranked the top defensive coordinator and second overall behind Josh McDaniels, who ironically enough, chased Jay Cutler out of Denver.  Full. Circle.

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy wonders why former Bears quarterback Matt Blanchard was out of work before adding him the mix up North:

"“I said, ‘Why the hell don’t you have a job?’ Just after watching his workout and watching film of his time at Carolina. I just think there’s a lot there to work with, as far as his physical talent. The young man’s a winner, and he’s in a good place. He’s getting better. He’s getting better each and every week.”"

Let’s hope the local kid doesn’t bite the hand that once fed him.

Speaking of quarterbacks, Kristin Cavallari thinks you should invest a first round draft pick in her husband… for your fantasy team.

Now that’s a fantasy K-Cav.

Last but certainly not least, MMQB’s Robert Klemko ranked Jay Cutler as the 56th most influential person for the 2015 season with a lot at stake this year:

"Hence, despite being in the second year of a seven-year deal, Cutler has every reason to treat this like a contract year, which means buying what Gase is selling. My hunch: Gase will look at Cutler’s most successful seasons, when coaches limited the passing options and put clamps on the QB, and emulate those game plans in an effort to reduce turnovers."
