Chicago Bears: Matt Forte ready for Packers

facebooktwitterreddit

Matt Forte spoke to the media yesterday and said he was excited to get back out there. It’s assumed Forte and Alshon Jeffery will play against Green Bay tomorrow night.

Many analyst believe it was the difference maker in the two point loss to the Broncos. Jeremy Langford struggled and Jay Cutler had to work with a second tier receiving corps against the number one defense in the league. You can project what might have happened but their experience might have been enough to make the difference. It will be good to have both Forte and Jeffery back in the lineup.

Right now it looks like Eddie Royal is out. He has a bad knee and not much has been said about it. Pernell McPhee’s knee is still ailing him and that is why he has not been as effective as in the past. Don’t expect Anton Rolle or Ka’Deem Carey to be available as well for the Packers game.

Following up on David Fales promotion to the 53 man roster. It was apparent teams were looking to sign him off the practice squad. Last season, the Patriots were trying to sign him and the Bears promoted him then. Since the Ravens signed Jimmy Clausen, and the Broncos were next in line, you can imagine the two teams that were interested in Fales: Broncos and Ravens.

With the Pat’s sniffing around last season, and probably two or more teams this year, it speaks volumes of his talent. Not saying he will be Cutler’s replacement but there is something there. As mentioned before, the 2016 draft will give us a look at what the Bears think of Fales.
