The injury bug continues to hit the Chicago Bears. Josh Sitton becomes the latest victim.

The 2016 Chicago Bears cannot catch a break. The entire team is beginning to look more like a MASH unit than a professional football team and word came down today that there is another player that has been added to the walking wounded list.

Sitton injured his ankle on the second to last play of the game last Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars and apparently the injury is going to keep him out for what appears to be multiple games. If the injury isn’t too severe, hopefully the Bears can have Sitton return after the week 8 bye. If that’s the case, he would only miss two games (Green Bay and Minnesota).

Missing Thursday’s game against the Green Bay Packers isn’t going to sit well with Sitton. The Packers, of course, released Sitton during final cutdowns and he would certainly want to get some revenge and lay some hits on his former teammates.

The Bears will now look to replace him. Biggs speculates that Eric Kush might even get the starting nod over Ted Larsen. While Kush is a true guard, both Larsen and Cody Whitehair can play both guard and center and it would give the Bears a little flexibility as to what they feel is their strongest offensive line without Sitton.

The Bears interior offensive line of Sitton, Whitehair, and Kyle Long was becoming one of the strongest in the NFL. It almost seems an inevitability for this year’s team that if something is trending in the right direction, that something is going to put a stop to it. Cameron Meredith and Jordan Howard better look both ways before crossing the street and look above their heads for falling pianos at this rate.

The Packers currently sit as a nine-point favorite against the Bears are losing Sitton certainly isn’t going to help the Bears chances at pulling the upset.
