Kyle Long tweeted out the player he thinks is the most NFL-ready in this year’s draft.

Most players don’t say anything publicly about who they think their current team should sign or draft. But most players aren’t Kyle Long. For Chicago Bears fans who aren’t on twitter, Long is one of the most active professional athletes. He tweets multiple times a day about just about anything and constantly interacts with his fans.

Long randomly dropped a nugget about a particular player in this year’s draft class, and it appears Long is a fan of his work.

While Long certainly didn’t make a suggestion that the Bears should draft Thomas, it is interesting that this tweet came while speculation has increased that the Bears like Solomon Thomas more than Jonathan Allen with the third overall pick.

More from Bear Goggles On

Thomas is a Chicago-native who proved to be a very versatile pass rusher last season at Stanford. Thomas has the speed to come off the edge, but the strength to bull-rush the middle of the line. He doesn’t appear to have a set position. He’s the type of guy that Vic Fangio can put all over the field and give opponents different looks at a consistent basis.

Not only does Long see that type of potential in Thomas, he sees him as a type of guy that can step right in and help the team. For a guy that’s been in the trenches for Chicago the past four seasons, his opinion is certainly a well-educated one. Plus, for a team that is coming off a 3-13 season, NFL-ready seems like an ideal attribute for any draft pick to have.
