$1.5 million disappointment might be the reason Bears falls short in playoffs

Will he get in the way of the Bears' Super Bowl hopes?

It's been an incredible season for the Chicago Bears as they are fighting to get themselves into the Super Bowl conversation.

The Bears are currently 11-4 and in first in the NFC North with a playoff spot already locked up. They need one more win to get themselves a division title and two wins with some help to earn the number one seed in the NFC.

With hopes of potentially taking home a Super Bowl title for the first time in 40 years, there might be one player who might end up holding them back from accomplishing that goal.

How Olamide Zaccheaus could actually hurt Bears' chances of doing that?

There have been some nice moments from Zaccheaus at receiver, but overall, it has not been great for him. He's had some bad moments, like three drops in the New York Giants win, and last week, in the win against the Green Bay Packers, he only caught two of five targets.

This season, Zaccheaus has caught only 60% of his 65 targets for 313 yards and two touchdowns in 15 games. The hope was that he would be able to be the slot receiver while rookie second-round pick Luther Burden III was developing, but the first-year receiver has played better than Zaccheaus has this season.

One other thing to keep in mind is that another rookie, undrafted Texas A&M receiver Jahdae Walker, had a massive moment in the Packers game, with the game-tying touchdown with under 30 seconds left, showing he deserves more playing time. The Bears might be in a situation where Walker needs to be more active on offense, and Zaccheaus could lose playing time as a result.

With Rome Odunze and Burden looking to return from their injuries soon, that might be bad news for Zaccheaus, but the Bears might be leaning more on him with both guys not 100% healthy. Not sure Bears fans should be confident in that, given how Zaccheaus has played this season.

If Chicago has to lean on Zaccheaus in the postseason, that could be a nightmare for the Bears' offense and could prevent them from making the run they need. Hopefully Odunze and Burden will be good to go and can help the Bears out with being available and get them a Super Bowl title without relying too much on Zaccheaus.
