Griese to Start

facebooktwitterreddit

It’s official — Rex Grossman has finally been benched! AOL Fanhouse ‘s Michael David Smith is reporting that Brian Griese will be the Bears starting quarterback for this Sunday’s game against the Lions.

"“The Chicago Bears will bench Rex Grossman and start Brian Griese in Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions…“And just about every Bears fan will ask: What took so long? Grossman threw the game away Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys. The Bears have a good enough defense and a good enough special teams to win a Super Bowl, and all they need is a competent quarterback. Grossman hasn’t been that.“Griese might not be that either. He’s had an on-and-off career, showing flashes of real talent but also making too many mistakes. If he fails, maybe it’s Kyle Orton time.”"

Griese should get the Bears back on track against the Lions pathetic excuse for a defense. Hell, he might even be a good fantasy start this week. Additionally, a more reliable QB should help running back Cedric Benson get back on track.
