Bears’ Briggs Named to Fifth Straight Pro Bowl

Even though the Bears post-season hopes have been dashed, Lance Briggs will be heading to Miami after all.  Briggs was selected to his 5th straight Pro Bowl and will be the lone Bears staerter.

This year, the Pro Bowl will be played the week before the Super Bowl in Miami, the site for Super Bowl XLIV.  This bit from Vaughn McClure’s bit on Breaking Chicago Sports:

"“You’ve got to take some positives out of what’s going on right now,” Briggs said during a phone interview on “Chicago Tribune Live.”“I’m just real happy right now. Because we didn’t have the season that we wanted, you never know how things are going to turn out. I just feel blessed right now.”Briggs leads the Bears with 135 tackles to go with 2 ½ sacks, seven tackles for loss, and an interception."

Teammate Johnny Knox was selected as a second alternate as a kick returner.   Not bad for the rookie.

Congrats to Lance and Johnny!  Way to represent!!!
