2010 opponent Carolina entered the night without a first round pick while Minnesota struck up an intra-divisional deal with the Lions, trading away their #30 pick so the Lions could nab Cal running back Jahvid Best.

The biggest newsmakers of the night had to be the Denver Broncos.  First they parlayed their pick from the Jay Cutler trade and then pulled off the biggest surprise of the night – drafting Florida quarterback Tim Tebow at #25.  Tebow joins former Bears QB Kyle Orton and former Golden Domer Brady Quinn.  Paraphrasing my favorite Tebow Tweet of the night, after the Broncos drafted him, ” he’s a mile closer to heaven.” Gold, Jerry! Gold!

With a night to reset their draft boards, expect plenty more action leading into Friday night and Rounds Two and Three.
