Bears vs Raiders Prediction: The Madden 11 Simulation
It’s the preseason for Bear Goggles On too, and we’re trying out a new segment: using a Madden 11 simulation to predict the games. Check it out and tell us what works, what doesn’t work, what we could do to improve the segment. I’ve got to give big props to Sam, his predication for the Chargers game was pretty damn close: he predicted 34-10 Chargers and the game turned out to be 25-10 Chargers. Not too shabby. On with the sims for Preseason Game #2, Bears vs Raiders.
The Bears look to bounce back on Saturday night when they open up Soldier Field for 2010 to host the Oakland Raiders. Hopefully Oakland doesn’t blitz, so we can get a longer look at Jay Cutler and the first team offense. Things seem to start off well. After another slow start in the first quarter, Jay Cutler opens it up with a pass that we hope to see a lot this season – a bomb to Johnny Knox!
Did you notice the back step up to pick up the pass rush? That’s what was missing in last week’s game.
Chris Harris makes his presence felt in his return to Soldier Field with a nifty INT to help hold down the Raiders first team and keep them out of the end zone.
Matt Forte capped of the scoring for the Bears’ first team offense with a rare TD run:
You could drive a truck through that hole. We can only hope to see more of that this season. As the scrubs take the field, even Dan LeFevour gets in on the scoring with a short TD pass to Will Ta’ufo’ou:
And just like that, the BEARS WIN 34-6! Now that’s more like it! All will be well in Beardom and we can rest easy and put down the Panic Buttons.
