Bears Schedule Looks More Promising as Vikings Waive Randy Moss

NFL Network has just reported that the Minnesota Vikings have waived WR Randy Moss.  This is following a lackluster performance on Sunday against the New England Patriots where he only had 1 catch for 8 yards.  He has been vocal about missing his former team since the trade.  However, his effort could have been in response to being fined $25,000 last week for not cooperating with the media.  It was obvious he wasn’t happy about the fine when, after the game this Sunday, he told the media that “I’ll ask my own questions.”  Whatever that means.

Nonetheless, he’ll have some time to ponder where he will make his next ourburst since as of today he is without a team.  He will be a free agent after this year if no one signs him.  Maybe the Bears should be interested in acquiring him if he clears waivers.  A good veteran receiver is currently non-existent on the Bears sidelines and Green Bay looks like they may start pulling away in the NFC North.  Yeah, we will have to deal with his antics, but he does bring talent.  What’s the worst that can happen?

At the very least, the Bears will not have to face Moss when they face the Vikings twice during the second half of the season.  And Favre is getting more and more banged up each week.  Always an optimist, the Bears second half looks a little brighter.  Most people have wrote the Bears off already, but adding Moss to the mix would make for an interesting second half.  We will see.

In the meantime, Moss will have more time to catch up on his fishing in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
