The DeCon’s Week 12 Fantasy Football Picks

I am safely home from a successful “business trip” to South Beach to watch our Bears pound the hapless Dolphins. It was a great game to be there for and I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was about 50% of the stadium in Blue and Orange! It almost felt like a home game, with the chants of “Let’s Go Bears!” resonating through the stadium. Obvioulsy, since I was away on my business trip, I had a week long hiatus from preaching about fantasy, but since your fantasy playoffs are likely only a couple weeks away, the DeCon wants to do right by his flock and lead you all to the promised land…after the jump…
The Bears weren’t the only ones to crush some fish in Miami last week. Introducing the DeCon and his “friend” Marino, a 91 inch sail fish that put up a bigger fight than the Dolphins!
Guys I Like
- Chad Ochocinco @ NYJ – While T.O. has been the man in Cincy, he will be lost on Revis Island this week, so Ocho will have to be targeted more often and since, you can’t run on the Jets, unless your name is Peyton Hillis, I think 85 has a solid game!
Shaun Hill vs New England – The NE secondary is suspect and Shaun Hill has been a solid starter for the Lions. Plus, it is possible for Detroit to be down big and force Hill to accrue some excellent garbage time yards.
Keiland Williams vs Minnesota – The Williams Wall is starting to look like the Berlin Wall right after they tore it down…Shannahan loves to run the ball and with Ryan Torain and Clinton Portis out, Williams will get a ton of work.
Knowshon Moreno vs St Louis – Welcome back to fantasy relevance, Mr. Moreno! Expect another heavy dose of Knowshon who has topped over 100 yards in his last two games.
Johnny Knox vs Philly – I don’t know why, but I have a sneaky feeling that Knox could break out this week. Philly’s corners like to gamble and if the Bear’s O-Line can keep JC upright, I expect Knox to be the recipient of a long ball this week.
Guys I Don’t Like
Michael Vick @ Bears – Yeah, I said it and, yeah, I might be drinking the Kool-Aid, but it could be a sloppy track for Vick to navigate on Sunday and the Bears D has the LBs to keep him corralled.
Randy Moss @ Houston – Quickly becoming Mr. Irrelevant in Fantasy circles after being a 1st round draft pick in most drafts. Add in a rookie QB for Tenn in his first start and this has disaster written all over it.
Vernon Davis @ Arizona – Normally a must start, but Vern’s lack of production has me crying out, “I want winners!” Also, a strike against him is he is playing on Monday night so he could wind up being a gametime decision.
Eli Manning vs Jacksonville – This screams of a juicy matchup for Eli, but he will be without Hakeem Nicks and Steve Smith, so I expect Coughlin to pound the rock with his new starting RB, the 260lb whiny bitch, Brandon Jacobs. By the way, I still think Ahmad Bradshaw will get plenty of touches against a Jax D that ranks in the bottom half and has allowed the second most TDs to RBs this season with 12.
Mike Williams (Tampa) @ Baltimore – The Balt D is slowly getting its swagger back after a pasting of Carolina last week. I think they will have a lot of heat on Josh Freeman making it difficult for him to find Williams.
