In the equivalent of a last second touchdown pass into the back of the end zone for the go-ahead score, the lockout appears to have been lifted, for now. But as avid football fans, we know better. In the last 2 minutes of a game, this play will be reviewed, so the real outcome remains in doubt. Were both feet in? Did the receiver maintain control? The Calvin Johnson play ain’t got nothing on this legal play.
Judge Susan Nelson put a large W in the players’ column, granting an injunction that the lockout imposed by the NFL owners come to an end. The group formerly known as the NFLPA sent an e-mail to players advising them that they are free to report to work on Tuesday to go to team facilities to work out, get treatment, etc. It remains to be seen if any of the players show up on Tuesday. Given that the NFL has appealed the ruling and seeks to stay the decision, so don’t go counting your free agent chickens before they’re hatched. Stay tuned for more details on the Lockout.
