At least during a lockout, the Bears can still hand out one of the more prestigious awards they hand out. Today, Anthony Adams and J’Marcus Webb received the Brian Piccolo Award!!! This award is special because the Bears players vote amongst themselves for the rookie and veteran who best exemplify the courage, loyalty, teamwork, dedication and sense of humor of the late Brian Piccolo. As you are probably familiar, Piccolo was a running back for the Chicago Bears from 1966 until his untimely death from embryonal cell carcinoma on June 16, 1970, at age 26. If you have never seen the movie, Brian’s Song, do yourself a favor and give it a spin. I guarantee there will be some mist in your eyes, especially from this clip…after the jump…
Congrats to Anthony and J’Marcus…I Hope Anthony gets a chance to win this title again (he is an unrestricted free agent) and I hope this is just the beginning for Big Webb!!!
CAN I GET AN AMEN?!?!?!?!?!
The DeCon has spoken, so let it be written, so let it be done…
