We already knew the Bears were parting ways with popular defensive lineman Anthony Adams, but some good news on that front came across the wires today as it was announced that the Bears will also be sending awful tackle Frank Omiyale packing as well. Here’s new GM Phil Emery on the cuts:
"“Cuts are never easy, but are a part of the evaluation process,” Bears general manager Phil Emery said in a statement. “We appreciate all that Anthony and Frank gave the Bears organization both on and off the field during their time in Chicago. We wish them the best moving forward.”"
Which of Omiyale’s 22 penalties and 20.5 sacks allowed in his 48 games with the Bears was your favorite? Do you think Jay Cutler will miss Frank O-my-god? The moves saves the Bears another $1.35 million in 2012 cap space and extends Jay Cutler’s life expectancy considerably. Now if only we could get them to get Marion Barber outta here, we’ll be good to go.
