That didn’t take long. No sooner was Peyton Manning on a plane to Denver after eliminating the Redskins from his short list of possible destinations than the Redskins were on the phone with the St Louis Rams to grab the #2 ovall pick in the upcoming NFL draft.
As first reported by Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer, the Redskins will send the #6 pick this year and first rounders the next two years for the right to move up 4 spots, presumably for the right to draft fast rising quarterback prospect Robert Griffin III. Does this mean the Rex Grossman era is over in DC?
As we Bears fans know, it’s a steep price to pay to get get a top quarterback. The Bears traded away a paid of #1’s and a third rounder along with Kyle Orton for Cutler and a fifth round pick.
