Brian Urlacher was in New York for Nike’s unveiling of the slick new uniforms and took a moment to sit down with the Sun Times’ Sean Jensen to discuss his future with the Bears. It’s good news if you’re a Brian Urlacher fan:
"‘‘There’s no doubt in my mind I’ll finish my career with the Bears,’’ Urlacher told the Sun-Times on Tuesday. ‘‘However that works out, it works out. I can’t imagine playing anywhere else.’’"
I can’t imagine him playing anywhere else either.
Jensen brings up the “R” word with the Bears middle linebacker.
"‘‘The No. 1 thing is, I’ve got to keep playing well,’’ Urlacher said. ‘‘We’ll see what happens. I don’t want to go anywhere else.’’"
Urlacher even takes a shot at himself and maybe kinda, sorta takes a shot at fellow linebacker with this little nugget:
"‘‘Even when I was being a little baby and I wanted a contract extension, they gave it to me,’’Urlacher said, referring to his last contract. ‘‘They’ve always taken care of me. But I think it goes both ways.’’"
Brian even took a moment to do a little brown-nosing
"‘‘Oh, I love Emery,’’ Urlacher said. ‘‘Look what he’s done for our team. Brought Matt [Forte] back, signed [Michael] Bush, traded for [Brandon] Marshall.‘‘It’s great. He’s taken all of the pressure off of our draft with what he’s done.’’"
Remember a couple of years ago when Urlacher decided he was going to be jerk to the media and was going on with his one-word answer? Seems like a lifetime ago, doesn’t it?
