A day after they ended their offseason program, the Bears added a couple of bodies to vie for a shot at the final 53-man roster. At least they get an all-expense paid trip to lovely Bourbonnais, IL.
Coming to the party are cornerback Cornelius Brown and offensive lineman Corey Brandon. Both players have some NFL experience under their belts. Brown even had a previous go-around with the Bears, spending a preseason with the team in 2010 before getting cut at the end of camp. He appeared in 10 games with the Colts that year before spending 2011 out of football.
As for Brandon, he and offensive line coach Tim Holt spent time together last season with the Bucs. The 6’7″ 324 pound offensive tackle will compete for a roster spot with undrafted free agents James Brown, Tyler Hendrickson and AJ Greene.
Heading into camp, the Bears’ roster is set at 89, one shy of the max. Barring a miracle, these guys are longshots to make the final 53, but you never know.
