The Brandon Marshall Effect

facebooktwitterreddit

With the arrival of Brandon Marshall the butterfly effect will be great for certain Bears. A big time player of Marshall’s caliber can make things a lot easier for the players around him. So who will be the one that benefits the most? Below is a list of players that I think will.

Jay Cutler

Since Jay got to Chicago he has not had the explosive wide out that changes games. Despite this Cutty has gotten better each year with the beloved. Marshall will help continue that trend on a couple different fronts. First of all he will give Jay that big wide out that every quarterback covets. Secondly he will make the wideouts around him better by not having a bunch of two’s and three’s playing as one’s and two’s. Even if this tandem does not produce huge numbers together Cutler’s will improve just with him being here.

Matt Forte

This one is easy. Teams can no longer focus their game plans with eight in the box trying to stop the only offensive weapon the Bears have. Teams will need to play them more honest opening up space for Forte.

Devin Hester

If all is true out of Halas Hall with the Devin package this is my pick. I have been ranting for years to anyone who would listen that the Bears have been using Hester all wrong. Get him in space and let him do what he does best, making people miss. Cutler to Hester may be the one that produces the most this year.

Earl Bennett

Since Cutler has got here Bennet has been his most consistent receiver. This is not going to stop now. With Marshall here Bennet will get better looks on seams and cut routes. I would not be surprised if Bennet leads the team in Touchdowns this year.

Brandon Marshall

While Marshall has found success since he and Cutty last met with other teams the off the field stuff has plagued him. I think getting back together with his favorite QB on a team that is primed to win is going to pay huge dividends for him. I am not saying he will have his best year yet but, there will not be a drop in production.

The Defense

The potential of the offense with the addition of Marshall is the best this team has seen in years. The Defense has logged a lot of minutes in the past few years. If this offense can put points up and give the D a lead more often then not the way the defense plays changes. You can take more shots with a lead then without one. Pin back your ears and get after em’ boys!

That’s just my two cents though. Let me know what you think. Did I miss anyone?  Vote in our poll and support your vote with a Comment.
