Chicago Bears Week 2 Milk Carton
I’ve decided to start a weeekly feature after each Bears game, win or lose called the Milk Carton. It will highlight someone who was missing in action during the game.
There is plenty of blame to go around and the point of this dishonor is not to name the worst player or the worst performance, it’s to name the player who was missing or invisible for a large part of the game.
My Chicago Bears Week 2 Milk Carton winner is…
Brandon Marshall
Marshall stormed onto the scene in Chicago with a wide receiver performance for the ages in Week 1 vs the Colts with 9 catches for 119 yards and 1 TD on 15 targets. Fantasy owners and Bear fans alike were dancing in the streets at the seemingly limitless potential of the Marshall-Cutler-Bates reunion.
Fast forward a few short days later in Green Bay where Marshall was missing for most of the game. The biggest play he had was in the third quarter where he dropped a sure touchdown that could have closed the margin to 13-7. Marshall finally notched his first of two catches when the game was not really in dispute.
For the new-look Bears offense to have that new look, Marshall can’t disappear. Let’s hope this is a only time this comes up this season.
What do you think? Who would you put on your milk carton? Let’s hear your thoughts in the Comments.
