I was digging around on YouTube and found this clip from the 97th Grey Cup between new Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman’s Montreal Alouttes and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. It’s a pretty good clip, including an Andy Fantuz sighting. Remember him Bears fans?
You’ll note that in the CFL, the teams have three downs to convert a first down, so at one point, when they say “it’s a big third down conversion” to NFL fans, that means a fourth down conversion. That tells me Trestman is willing to take some calculated risks.
Hopefully you’ve watched whole clip before reaching this point, otherwise, I’ll give you a spoiler alert – Trestman’s team wins in dramatic come-from-behind fashion.
