When you watch Colin Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl on Sunday, just remember Bears fans, you were there when it all started.  Kaepernick made his first start vs the Bears back in Week 11 in prime time.  It was set to be the battle of the backups as Jay Cutler was out recovering from a concussion and Alex Smith wasn’t ready to go from a brain boo boo of his own.

Notice that Kaepernick didn’t even really run a ton of the read-option stuff against the Bears, who loaded up the box expecting a steady dose of Frank Gore, but instead got a lot of Kaepernick throws to open receivers.

After the game, Urlacher complimented the young QB:

I wonder if he’ll F-ing play well vs the Ravens.  He won’t be sneaking up on them like he snuck up on the Bears.
