Following his recent DUI, his second run-in with the law this offseason, second year H-back Evan Rodriguez issued an apology through the Bears:
"“I am deeply sorry for the incident that occurred the other night,” Rodriguez said in a statement. “I want to apologize to the entire Bears organization, my teammates, coaches and Bears fans everywhere. I realize that I made a very poor decision. I know that more is expected of me and that I let a lot of people down that are counting on me. I will make positive changes in my life so that this doesn’t happen again.”"
Apology or not, I’ve already stated my opinion on the matter – the Bears should cut ERod immediately. If they don’t cut him, Emery looks to be pretty weak. Make an example of a young, mid-round pick and show the team who’s in charge. There’s a new administration in charge and they need to set the tone.
Rodriguez has a history of alcohol-related incidents, so forgive me if I don’t buy his whole, “I will make positive changes” business.
What do you think? Do you buy Rodriguez’s apology? Should he get another chance?
