December 3, 2012; Landover, MD, USA; New York Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes (9) kicks the ball during warm ups prior to the Giants
2012 #79- Lawrence Tynes PK New York Giants- Another kicker cracks the top 95. Tynes is now a free agent but whoever kicks for the Giants is a decent option when picking up your kicker. In the first half of the season the Giants offense was effective and a lot of field goals were kicked, but Tynes and the Giants offense slowed down as December approached.
Retro- #79– Travis Taylor WR Baltimore Ravens- Travis Taylor is one of those players that never came close to his potential. 2002 was actually Taylor’s best season catching 61 balls for 869 yards and 6 touchdowns. This of course was when the Ravens offense was more pre-historic than the Chicago Bears offense so Taylor’s 2002 season was huge for Baltimore.
Look Ahead #79
ESPN & CBS- Both sites are in agreement that Vernon Davis is #79 for the upcoming season. If you look at Davis stats he was actually hurt when Alex Smith was benched. Colin Kaepernick made the offense better but mostly to the wide receivers and his own stat line. Because of this Davis should go later in drafts and could be an excellent value if Harbaugh adds back the tight end to the offense especially with the loss of Michael Crabtree.
