#61 2013– Steve Smith Carolina Panthers Smith is one of my best trades of all-time. I picked him up early in 2002 for a 2nd round draft pick because the guy who had Smith on his roster had “too many studs” and two years later totally regretted the deal. Smith has been very good for decade excluding the season he missed entirely because of a broken leg. Last season Smith had 73 catches for 1,174 yards and 4 touchdowns. Smith owns the Bears and does pretty good the rest of the season. Smith is a solid pick up anywhere between the 3rd and 5th rounds.
Retro-#61 2002– Koren Robinson-WR-Seattle Seahawks- It’s amazing how many players best season was in 2002 including former 1st round pick Robinson. In 2002 he caught 78 balls for 1,240 yards and 5 touchdowns. It looked like Robinson had arrived, but he never came close of matching those stats but he was on NFL rosters for 6 more season.
Look Ahead #61
ESPN– Erick Decker-WR Denver Broncos Decker is the #2 punch for the Broncos that add Wes Welker now, so it’s hard to say if Decker’s stats will improve or decrease with the addition of the best slot receiver in football. Decker to me is more risky than most experts believe.
CBS– Jason Witten-TE Dallas Cowboys- Witten is one of the best tight ends in football and will catch a lot of balls and will be very dependable in your lineup. With the questions of Rob Gronkowski and the arrest of Aaron Hernandez it will be anyone’s guess how high Witten will go this season.
