I wish the Bears and Redskins were in the same division, because I’d love to see how this matchup would play out on the field if these teams were to take to the gridiron again this season.  Cheap shot artist extraordinaire Brandon Meriweather proved he can dish out the cheap shots off the field as well as he does on the field.

The Bears were calling for Meriweather to be suspended and even kicked out of the league after the Bears’ 45-41 loss to the ‘Skins, a game in which the Washington safety was penalized twice for personal fouls.  Brandon Marshall, one of Meriweather’s targets, was clear on his thoughts about Meriweather:

"“I respect the league trying to better our game,” Marshall said after that game. “Guys like that, maybe he needs to get suspended or taken out of the game completely.”"

I guess Meriweather took exception to Marshall’s comments when he responded today:

"“He feels like I need to be kicked out of the league, I feel like people who beat their girlfriends should be kicked out of the league, too,” Meriweather said. “You tell me who you’d rather have?” Meriweather said. “Someone who plays aggressive on the field or someone who beat up their girlfriend?”"
