Josh McCown is looking good so far this season as a fill in for Jay Cutler, do you think the Vikings will try and sign him next year when he becomes a free agent?
"Nov 10, 2013; Chicago, IL, USA; Chicago Bears quarterback Josh McCown (12) throws a touchdown pass to Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall (not pictured) during the second half at Soldier Field. Detroit defeats Chicago 21-19. Mandatory Credit: Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports They should! Maybe just as a backup to whatever future failure the Vikings draft in this upcoming draft. I’d love to be more optimistic about Minnesota’s future at the quarterback position. But when you review the track record of the quarterbacks they have drafted in the past, it doesn’t look good. McCown is an upgrade to any of the signal callers currently on the Vikings squad, and that’s one of the most disappointing things that I’ve ever had to write."
How do you feel about Jared Allen announcing that he will test out the waters as a free agent next year?
"Nov 7, 2013; Minneapolis, MN, USA; Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen (69) brings out a flag during introductions before the game with the Washington Redskins at Mall of America Field at H.H.H. Metrodome. The Vikings win 34-27. Mandatory Credit: Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports I expected it. A player at his age needs to chase a Super Bowl championship ring. He doesn’t seem like the kind of guy to want to stick around and help young guys develop, be a leader, and have a team grow because of him. Also, he hasn’t been the player that he was in the past. The Vikings will have a hefty sum of money to spend in free agency next season, but hopefully they don’t throw a ton of money at him to keep him on the team. You never want to overpay for a guy because of things he’s done in the past."
What is your prediction for the game and final score?
"Sep 15, 2013; Chicago, IL, USA; Chicago Bears cornerback Tim Jennings (26) celebrates with teammates including Devin Hester (23) and Lance Briggs (55) after returning a Minnesota Vikings interception for a touchdown during the second quarter at Soldier Field. Mandatory Credit: Dennis Wierzbicki-USA TODAY Sports I can’t predict the Vikings to win another game this season. The offense is just too one dimensional and the defense is almost non-existent. I expect the Bears to pass all over the Vikings and win this game. Final score prediction: 31-20 in favor of the Chicago Bears."
