Alshon Jeffery

Phil Emery traded up in the second round of the 2012  to get another big target to go alongside Brandon Marshall and picked up Alshon Jeffery out of South Carolina.  There were questions about his weight and work ethic.  I think those have been dispelled so far in his young career.  He had an unimpressive rookie season with only 24 catches for 367 yards and three TD’s in an injury shortened season where he missed 6 games with a couple of injuries.  To put things in perspective, Jeffery has 17 catches for 333 yards and 3 TD’s over the last two games!  He’s exploded in his second season.

In the offseason, Brandon Marshall took Jeffery under his wing and the dynamic due trained together in Florida.  It obviously worked with Jeffery now leading the Bears with 1193 yards on 75 catches for 6 TD’s.  Jeffery has put together a personal highlight reel over just the last two weeks.  Check out these sick catches:

This was last week against the Vikings.  But wait, there’s more.

How about picking one off the defenders head to save an interception:

And this one, to haul in the 100th TD of Week 14 in incredible fashion:

With Jay Cutler’s contract set to expire in a few weeks, he might have a decision to make about whether to return to Chicago or seek free agent riches elsewhere.  Where else will he find this collection of offensive talent?

BEAR DOWN!!!
