Cutler wasn’t even sure that the switch was going to go over well with his teammates and took the time to talk face to face; man to man with many of them.

"I’ve talked to Brandon Marshall about it… We’ve been together a long time. I knew he’d shoot me straight. I talked to Roberto Garza. I mentioned some stuff to the linemen. Everyone was super supportive. Like, ‘This is what we’ve been waiting for: you to get back. So let’s go. Let’s quit talking about it. Let’s go out there and play.’ So guys were great. I said it yesterday, it’s a really, really cool group to work with. -Jay Cutler"

That says a lot about Trestman and the influence he has had on Cutler in the short amount of time he has been with the team. I am not sure 2008 Jay does that.

Jermon Bushrod, the man tasked to keep Cutler clean from the blind side offered up this:

"The good thing is, Trestman was a man of his word when he said that when Jay was 100 percent, he was getting his job back… It means a lot. He was being true to his team, true to his word. And that means a lot to our team."

Perhaps it is true that some people in the organization didn’t agree with Trestman’s decision to go back to Cutler and they don’t have to. There will never be an organization of any size where everyone agrees with everything the leader says or does; that is just the nature of the beast.

This was a matter of the Head Coach having faith in his players and being honest with them; they responded by playing well enough to win the game and became closer in the process.

He Trested and they responded. (pun intended)

This move could’ve broken the team, instead, it galvanized the team. It wouldn’t surprise me to see the Bears take another step this week against the Eagles on Sunday Night Football.

The Bears are 4-0 this season playing in prime time games.

What do you think Bears fans? What do you think of Trestman and his leadership so far? Are the Bears headed down the right path or is Trestman in over his head? Let me know in the comment section!
